Guilty Gear -Strive- to Offer Free Next-Gen Upgrade and Cross-Play on PlayStation Platform

An FAQ published onto the Arc System Works website for Guilty Gear -Strive- has revealed that the game will offer a ‘free’ next-gen upgrade for both digital and physical users on the PlayStation 4 as well as confirmation that cross-play functionality between PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles will be supported.

In short; those who purchase Guilty Gear -Strive- on the PlayStation 4 will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version at no additional cost and can play online with those who have either version of the game. Downloadable content will also be shared between PS4 and PS5 versions of the game, so long as the same account is being used to access the content.

Further information relating to Guilty Gear -Strive- can be found on the official website, but in the meantime the game is planned for a PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Windows PC (via STEAM) release during April 2021.
