AKIRA Limited Edition 4K Blu-Ray Announced for November Release

Following on from its 4K cinematic debut earlier this month Manga Entertainment UK have today announce plans to bring the 4K edition of AKIRA to Blu-Ray with a Limited Edition 4K Blu-Ray release next month.

Scheduled for release on the 30th November 2020, and with an RRP of £59.99, this 4K Blu-Ray release of iconic film will be presented as a Limited Edition release and come with the standard High Definition version of the film on Blu-Ray disc alongside an additional Blu-Ray disc filled with bonus features. These discs will be presented in a standard Amaray case alongside a 40-page booklet, all of which come packaged in a rigid art box, all of which replicates the design of the original Japanese 4K Edition of the film that was released earlier this year.

  • Round table interview with the Japanese cast and sound director
  • ‘Timeline of Events in Akira’

Although not specified in the press release it is expected that 4K Blu-Ray disc will feature the film in English and Japanese audio (with English subtitles) and the standard Blu-Ray discs are expected to be the same as the previous AKIRA Blu-Ray release back in 2017.

This Limited Edition 4K Blu-Ray release of AKIRA is scheduled for a 30th November 2020 release in the UK and is currently available to pre-order from Zavvi. The release of AKIRA on 4K Blu-Ray also makes this the second anime film, in the same month, to be released on 4K Disc in the UK.
