Azur Lane: Crosswave to Launch February 2021 on Nintendo Switch

Following on from its Nintendo Switch announcement last month, publisher Idea Factory International have now announced that Azur Lane: Cross will launch on the Nintendo Switch during February 2021.

Previously Azur Lane: Crosswave, which is a 3D styled action shooter with visual novel story elements, was originally released onto the PlayStation 4 and Windows PC (via STEAM); but as of next year fans of the game will be able to play on the Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Switch version will feature some additional content compared to the previous PlayStation 4 and Windows PC releases such as the inclusion of the following content:

  • Taihou and Formidable as playable characters (previously DLC for PS4/Steam versions)
    • Each character comes with 3 support characters and additional story content.
  • An updated Photo Mode where players can now choose up to 6 characters instead of 3, with extended camera angles!

As a reminder a loyal scheme for the STEAM version is currently in place. As part of this new scheme those who purchased Azur Lane Cross before its release on the 13th February 2020 will be able to purchase new character DLC with a 50% discount from 5th October 2020 to 2nd November 2020.

Azur Lane: Crosswave takes the spirit of the mobile game and uses the Unreal Engine to bring its characters to life in a massive 3D world, so fans can see them like they’ve never seen them before.   • Ships at Bae – Players will need to defeat enemy ships and meet special criteria to unlock and customize new characters.   • Glide & Weave – Don’t just sit out there like a buoy! Prepare yourself and input your attacks!  Pay close attention to aerial bombs, underwater torpedoes, and incoming projectiles. Launch and aim your torpedoes, shoot down incoming aerial attacks with your anti-air guns, and swiftly glide past any incoming missiles!
  • Unreal Big Fish – Azur Lane: Crosswave uses the Unreal Engine and it brings your favorite 2D characters in the original mobile app come to life in this 3D, cel-shaded world!

Azur Lane: Crosswave is now available digitally and physically for the PlayStation 4 as well as digitally via STEAM for Windows PC. The Nintendo Switch version is expected to be released physically and digitally during February 2021 with further details to be confirmed.
