Samurai Shodown to Launch on Xbox Series X & Xbox Series S This Winter

SNK have recently announced that Samurai Shodown, the latest 3D entry into the violent sword slashing arcade fighter otherwise known in Japan as Samurai Spirits, will be making its next-gen debut on the Xbox Series X (and Xbox Series S) this Winter.

Previously released onto the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC (STEAM) – as well as playable through Google Stadia – Samurai Shodown on the Xbox Series X (and Xbox Series S) will bring the excitement of the original experience but improved with next-gen visuals and performance. Specific details on what this Xbox Series version of the game have not yet been provided, but the producer, Yasuyuki Oda, did share a message surrounding this announcement.

“The Xbox Series X|S is Microsoft’s most innovative and cutting-edge next-gen console which is ramping up to hit the market soon, and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of its massive presence in the gaming community.”

In addition to the games next-gen announcement SNK also released a new trailer showcasing a wide-variety of characters available within the game as well as some of the arcade combat that players can expect.

Samurai Shodown, otherwise known as Samurai Spirits, will launch on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles later this Winter with further release details to be announced. In the meantime the original game is available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC (via STEAM).
