Azur Lane: Crosswave to Launch on Nintendo Switch in 2021

Following on from its Nintendo Switch release in Japan earlier this year, North American based publisher Idea Factory International have now announced plans to release a localised release of Azur Lane: Crosswave onto the Nintendo Switch within Europe and North America next year.

Previously Azur Lane: Crosswave, which is a 3D styled action shooter with visual novel story elements, was originally released onto the PlayStation 4 and Windows PC (via STEAM); but as of next year fans of the game will be able to play on the Nintendo Switch. Sadly Idea Factory International have not yet provided a release window, but the Nintendo Switch version will feature some additional content compared to the previous PlayStation 4 and Windows PC releases.

In this case the Nintendo Switch version also adds the following content:

  • Taihou and Formidable as playable characters (previously DLC for PS4/Steam versions)
    • Each character comes with 3 support characters and additional story content.
  • An updated Photo Mode where players can now choose up to 6 characters instead of 3, with extended camera angles!

In addition to the Nintendo Switch version of Azur Lane: Crosswave Idea Factory International have also unveiled a loyalty programme for the STEAM Version of the game. As part of this new scheme those who purchased Azur Lane Cross before its release on the 13th February 2020 will be able to purchase new character DLC with a 50% discount from 5th October 2020 to 2nd November 2020.
