Animation Fan Recreates Pokemon Silver Opening

It’s finally Friday, so let us unwind with some nostalgia, which is kind of comical when you think that Super Mario 3D All-Stars launches today on the Nintendo Switch, but we are not here to talk about that. Instead we are here to showcase this rather impressive recreation of the opening from Pokemon Silver from Ireland based Animator/Artist Darren Rafferty, otherwise known on YouTube as illbedarnd.

In this case Darren, or illbedarnd if you prefer, spent over 300 hours on recreating the 50 second opening from the Game Boy Colour game Pokemon Silver and the results are impressive indeed. To coincide with this little animation project Darren also released a comparison video which not only shows the similarities, but also goes into detail on how scenes were made.
