New Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Cafe Mix Announced for Nintendo Switch

As part of a special ‘Pokemon Direct’ event The Pokemon Company have announced that two Pokemon themed games will be making their way to the Nintendo Switch in the coming months, with some major ‘Pokemon themed news’ planned for next week.

In the case of today’s Pokemon themed announcements the company revealed that a brand new variation of Pokemon Snap will be made, a game which originally debut on the Nintendo 64, that will allow people to take photos of Pokemon in the wild. Thanks to new hardware and console functionalities, as well as hundreds of new Pokemon, players will be able to explore the island and take pictures of all sorts in the wild. This will game will be known as  ‘New Pokemon Snap’ and is expected to be released later this year.

Alongside ‘New Pokemon Snap’ we also have a free-to-start Pokemon game known as Pokemon Cafe Mix. This ‘free to start’ game will be released in the near future and will be available on Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android devices and will see players bake tasty treats for their Pokemon themed quests. It all sounds quite bizarre, but it is definitely a unique and fresh take on expanding the Pokemon brand.

In addition to these two Nintendo Switch titles further information relating to Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield was shown during the presentation, as the first expansion pass is released today, and that a Raid battle with a special Pokemon will also be made available. Additional news, for other Pokemon titles, comes in the form of Pokemon Smile – a teeth brushing themed Pokemon game – and an update for Pokemon GO that will see Mega Evolutions as part of the game.

Further information surrounding each of these titles will be shared in due time; but the Pokemon Direct event can be re-watched again below.
