Magic Knight Rayearth Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray Details Announced

Back in 2018 at MCM London Comic Con Anime Limited announced they had secure the UK home distribution rights to CLAMP’s animated fantasy series Magic Knight Rayearth and that they would be bringing the series to Blu-Ray within the UK. Since then Anime Limited have remained quiet, but today the distributor revealed on their blog what they have in store for series and – as you would expect – it will be a Collector’s Edition release with the series split across two instalments.

The entire Magic Knight Rayearth series consists of 3 OVA episodes, of which have been released in the UK in the past, and 49 TV Episodes, of which have never been released in the UK, and Anime Limited plans to release these as two half-season Collector’s Edition sets. The first set, known as Magic Knight Rayearth – Part 1, will be released on the 27th July 2020 with 27 Episodes in High Definition on Blu-Ray while the second set, known as Magic Knight Rayearth – Part 2, will be released on the 24th August 2020 with 22 episodes in High Definition on Blu-Ray and the 3 OVA episodes in Standard Definition on DVD. All episodes included in these sets will be available with English & Japanese audio options.

Both sets will be presented in rigid art boxes, with digi-pack slip cases that hold the discs, as well as some physical content in the form of art book (part 1) and art cards (part 2).

Magic Knight Rayearth – Part 1 is currently available to pre-order on the All The Anime store and retailer listings are expected to appear shortly. The release dates listed above are currently confirmed, but as with the current global situation l it is possible that the release dates may change without notice.
