Akame Ga Kill, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Studio Ghibli Movies Added to Netflix UK

A new month means another large content drop on subscription based video-on-demand platform Netflix UK and this as of yesterday, 1st March 2020, a selection of new anime titles – as well as another selection of Studio Ghibli titles – have been added on the platform; with highlights including Akame Ga Kill, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Spirited Away.

Anime titles:

  • Akame Ga Kill: Tatsumi sets out on a journey to help his poor village. When he’s rescued by a band of assassins, he joins their fight against the corrupt government.
  • JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Multiple generations of the Joestar family — all with the same nickname — confront supernatural villains through a series of time periods.

Studio Ghibli Titles:

  • Arrietty: When a tiny “borrower” named Arrietty makes friends with a young boy many times her size, she must also shield her family from his towering elders.
  • The Cat Returns: Young Haru rescues a cat from being run over, but soon learns it’s no ordinary feline; it happens to be the Prince of the Cats.
  • My Neighbours The Yamadas: Five-year-old Nonoko and the rest of the quirky Yamada family navigate the imaginative adventures and everyday struggles of life in contemporary Japan.
  • Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind: Facing the destruction of her planet’s natural resources, warrior princess Nausicaa rallies her people against an evil queen’s rampaging army.
  • Princess Mononoke: A prince infected with a lethal curse sets off to find a cure and lands in the middle of a battle between a mining town and the animals of the forest.
  • Spirited Away: Chihiro wanders into a magical world where a witch rules — and those who disobey her are turned into animals.
  • The Tale of Princess Kaguya: A magical nymph plucked from a bamboo stalk rapidly grows up into a beautiful woman who is pursued by a stable of smitten suitors.

All of the titles listed above, where available, are available to watch in both English and Japanese with English subtitles. Akame Ga Kill and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure are available on DVD and Blu-Ray via Manga Entertainment UK while the Studio Ghibli films are available on Blu-Ray and DVD via STUDIO CANAL.

As per usual in order to view the content listed above than a valid Netflix UK subscription is required as well as a valid internet connection.
