Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris Trailer Highlights Story & Gameplay

The latest instalment into the Sword Art Online game franchise, and a video game adaptation of the latest story arc of the anime series, will soon arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC and to get fans excited Bandai Namco Entertainment have released a new gameplay trailer for Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris.

This particular trailer offers a split focus with the video highlighting story elements from within the game and the numerous characters that players will encounter, some of which making their video game debut, as well as the enhanced gameplay mechanics and elements that players will find in the full game once it releases later this year. A breakdown of what can expect is also provided below:

The Story: Following the storyline from the anime, will make the player experience the “Alicization” arc through the eyes of Kirito. Upon the end of the Battle of Central Cathedral, fans will be able to go through a brand-new storyline, “Alicization Lycoris”, created exclusively for the game.

The Combat System: The battle system mixes skills and Sacred Arts; linking them with your team can trigger chained attacks.With the new Tactic Emulating AI System feature, you will be able to create new synergies with your team members. Your partners will memorize specific commands and autonomously use them depending on the situation.

Multiplayer Mode: We’ve also introduced multiplayer mode in which up to 4 players can fight altogether. Each player also brings along a partner for a total of 8 characters in the party! In this mode, you can create and customize your own avatar to show off your creativity.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris will be available physically and digitally for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well as digitally for Windows PC via Steam.
