SEGA Announces Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 for Xbox One and Xbox Game Pass

Today saw the XO 2019 event take place in London, of which saw countless pieces of news relating to future Xbox One games; and the most surprising was confirmation that Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 would be released onto Xbox One early next year and – even more surprisingly – as part of the Xbox Game Pass service.

The Yakuza franchise has mostly been a PlayStation console only release, with the original games being released onto the PlayStation 2 and then PlayStation 3 before more recently being remastered for the PlayStation 4. Three of the more recent titles, Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2, which were a new ‘prequel’ entry and two remade experiences respectively, have been released on Windows PC (via Steam); but the other titles are still only on PlayStation platforms – with remasters of Yakuza 4 and 5 expected to be released later next year.

Regardless this is exciting news for Xbox One owners eager to experience the Yakuza franchise, and for those who enjoyed Shenmue I and II then they will enjoy what the Yakuza series has to offer. Each aspect of the game, and story, is expected to be the same as the previous PlayStation 4 and STEAM release; but each game will be released onto Xbox Game Pass.
