Anime Limited Licenses Weathering With You for UK Release with Wider Cinematic Showings Planned in 2020

Following on from the news that Weather with You would be shown as part of the Scotland Loves Anime line-up, the schedule of which can be found here, UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited confirmed that they have licensed the film for UK release with a wider-cinematic release taking place during 2020 in both subtitled and dubbed formats.

Synopsis: High school freshman Hodaka Morishima leaves his home on an isolated island and moves to Tokyo, but he quickly finds himself in financial trouble. Living his days in isolation, he eventually lands a job as a writer for a shady occult magazine. Then one day in an alley, Hodaka meets a young girl named Hina Amano, bright and strong-willed, who possesses a strange and wonderful ability: the power to stop the rain and clear the sky.

Weathering with You will receive its UK Premiere in October (next month), in Japanese with English subtitles, as part of the Scotland Loves Anime event with a wider cinematic release, of which will be shown in both Japanese and English audio formats, planned for early 2020. It is expected that Anime Limited will then release the film on home video towards the end of 2020; similar to how they did with Your Name and A Silent Voice.

Further details about Anime Limited’s release plans for Weathering With You have yet to be revealed but, based on the trailer shown below, and the reaction received in Japan and Australia; it is a film worth watching – especially if you enjoyed Your Name.
