The Song of Saya To Be Released on Steam This Week

JAST USA have announced that the remastered version of The Song of Saya will be released on the 13th August 2019 as a digital download via Steam as well as the JAST USA Store. Those who purchased the original version of The Song of Saya will be able to update to this ‘new and improved’ version of the game for free.

As explained by JAST USA this new release of The Song of Saya includes a major technical update that improves on the fidelity of the visual novel experience. In this case the game runs on a new engine that adds additional resolution and improved visuals, additionally all of the original illustrations for the game were digitally re-scanned in order to delivery the higher resolution one would expected from newer visual novels releases.

The games visual styles are not the only improvement either as the original English text localisation has also been polished by the original translator as well, making the already great localization even better. The Steam version of The Song of Saya will also be ‘toned down’ compared to the uncut version on the JAST USA Store; this is due to the sexual themes featured within the game.

Saya no Uta ~ The Song of Saya is a gripping horror romance that asks how far you are willing to go for love. The story follows a university student who receives experimental brain surgery after a traumatic accident, and is left with warped senses that perceive the world as a wasteland of pulsating flesh and twisted monsters. His only light in this hellish wasteland comes from a mysterious girl named Saya.

The director and scenario writer for The Song of Saya is the acclaimed Gen Urobuchi, who also helped create anime series such as Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero, and Psycho-Pass.

The Song of Saya (with its content changes) will be available on Steam from the 13th August 2019 while the uncut version will be available from the JAST USA Store on the same day. Those who own the original game will be able to update to this latest version with a content update released on the same day.
