Dragon Ball Super on POP! UK TV Broadcast Details Announced

POP!, the Sony owned TV network, have announced through an updated TV advert that Dragon Ball Super will begin broadcasting in the UK on Monday 1st July 2019 (which is tomorrow) at 7pm; with new episodes shown at the same time each weekday. POP! is available on Freeview 206, Sky 616, Freesat 606 and Virgin Media 736.
Episodes shown throughout the week will then be repeated at the weekend, with two episodes shown on Saturday from 8:30pm and another two episodes shown on Sunday at the same. Any remaining ‘repeated’ episodes will be shown the following weekend and will continue to do so until all available episodes have been shown.
It’s unknown how many episodes POP! will show; but we do know (based on the TV advert) that they will show the entirety of the “Battle of Gods” arc of which lasts 18 episodes – which equates to over three weeks of Dragon Ball Super fun. It’s possible POP! will show more episodes and will have a different advert to highlight this; but only time will tell.
It is worth noting that Dragon Ball Super has been given a late time slot compared to other ‘new’ shows broadcast on the channel; furthermore Dragon Ball Super does not have an ‘morning’ showing. Usually most shows would receive both an early and afternoon showing; but in this case only one showing per day (and a late time slot) is being given. This could be due to the violence featured within Dragon Ball Super and its target audience being teenagers; but more importantly it will be interesting to see if/what edits have been made when compared to home video releases.
Regardless; Dragon Ball Super will begin its UK TV broadcast on POP! starting from Monday 1st July 2019 at 7pm with repeated episodes being shown at the weekend from 8:30pm. POP! is available on Freeview 206, Sky 616, Freesat 606 and Virgin Media 736.
