Square Enix E3 2019 Media Conference Trailer & Announcement Highlights

Square Enix’s E3 2019 Media Conference came with a lot of surprises, including an announcement of Final Fantasy VIII being released onto the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC in 2019; but it also came with a large selection of beautifully animated trailers. As such, and for ease of convenience, you can find all of the trailers (along with the announcements made) in this single article.

Final Fantasy VII Remake [PlayStation 4 – March 2020]:

A brand new trailer for the previously announced Final Fantasy VII Remake of which will be available in March 2020. This latest trailer gives a bigger glimpse at the updated combat as well as Tifa’s new design. Additionally the game will have a Deluxe and 1st Class Edition; each of which will contain exclusive physical and digital content.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered [Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC – TBC 2019]:

A High Definition remaster of the original Final Fantasy VIII game, which was originally released onto the PlayStation back in 1999, was announced for current-generation consoles and Windows PC. As illustrated in the trailer

Kingdom Hearts III Re:Mind DLC [PlayStation 4 & Xbox One – Winter 2019]:

Brand new downloadable conteOrnt for Kingdom Hearts III featuring new story related content and playable characters.

The Last Remnant [Nintendo Switch – OUT NOW]:

Originally released for the Xbox 360 in 2008, before being ported to Windows PC in 2009, and then later remastered for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 more recently; The Last Remnant makes its return to home console on Nintendo Switch. What’s even more surprising is that the game is available now as a digital download only release from the Nintendo eShop.

Romancing Saga 3 & SaGa SCARLET GRACE: AMBITIONS [Multi-Platforms – 2019 onward]:

Romancing Saga 3 was originally released onto the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, or SNES if you prefer, back in 1995 but was never localised; now with this announcement fans of the franchise will be able to play the third game on multiple-platforms; including the PS Vita and Nintendo Switch.

SaGa SCARLET GRACE: Ambitions meanwhile is a brand new entry into the Romancing Saga franchise.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 [PlayStation 4 & Nintendo Switch – July 12th 2019]:

The sequel to the minecraft styled creation and dungeon exploration game Dragon Quest Builders 2 receives a brand new trailer highlighting the different aspects of the game.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition [PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch & Smartphones – Winter 2019]

A remaster of the Nintendo Gamecube game, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, will be making its way to the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch later this year. In addition this game will also receive a smartphone release.

War of the Visions FINAL FANTASY BRAVE EXVIUS [Smartphones – TBC]:

A smartphone game based upon the Final Fantasy franchise.

ONINAKI [Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 & Windows PC – 22nd August 2019]:

The new Square Enix IP developed and published through the Square Enix Collective will be published on the 22nd August 2019 onto the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC (via Steam).

Square Enix did announce additional games and services, including an Avengers gameplay trailer; but these were the highlights for us – especially Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles for the Nintendo Switch. What were your highlights?
