FUNimation Titles Distributed by Anime Limited Removed from Retailers or Listed as “Out of Stock”

In some rather interesting, and extremely surprising news, it appears that FUNimation titles distributed by Anime Limited, otherwise known as All The Anime, have been either listed as sold out or removed from online retailers; that is according to a report on Anime UK News and as pointed out by community members on the website.

Upon hearing of this ourselves we also investigated different online retailers and discovered that majority of the notable online retailers, such as Amazon UK, Base, MusicMagpie and ZOOM UK, had either removed effected products from the website or marked them as not in stock. A small selection of retailers, such as Zavvi, do seem to have some titles available. The Anime Limited store meanwhile simply lists them as ‘Out of Sock’.

So which titles have been affected? In short anything previously released by Anime Limited on behalf of FUNimation or sub-licensed via FUNiamtion for release, and this can includes Anime Limited branded editions, have been affected; and this effects all variations (such as DVD, Blu-Ray, Collector’s Editions and Combo Pack releases). Expected titles, based on current information, can be found below:

At the time of writing Anime Limited have not provided an explanation or public statement surrounding the removal of these products from retailers across the UK. What’s even more surprising is that IF the license for these releases had expired it is no common practice to remove products; instead they would not be reprinted or mentioned in relevant media communications.
