In a rather surprising reveal Manga Entertainment UK have announced that they will be releasing DARLING in the FRANXX and Black Clover in the UK; with both being series receiving a Blu-Ray and DVD release during the second quarter of this year.
These new title announcements came as part of Manga Entertainment UK’s line-up for the second quarter of 2019, which takes place between April and June. The first part of Black Clover had previously been released by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment; however Manga Entertainment UK will now continue the tradition of releasing this Shonen Jump anime series on Blu-Ray and DVD format.
Another unusual announcement is the Pokémon – Partner up with Pikachu! release; which in fact is a ‘best of” collection consisting of different episodes from the first season of Pokemon. This DVD release Includes the episodes “Pokémon – I Choose You!”, “Showdown in Pewter City!”, “The Electric Shock Showdown” & “Pikachu’s Goodbye”
The Q2 2019 Release Slate currently looks like this:
1st April 2019:
- The Ancient Magus’ Bride – Part 1 (Blu-Ray & DVD)
8th April 2019:
- My Hero Academia: Two Heroes (Blu-Ray, DVD, Steelbook Blu-Ray)

As per usual these are just tentative release dates that are subject to change; but is a strong line up – especially for Shonen Jump based fans.
In addition to this release line-up Manga Entertainment UK also confirmed that MFKZ, which had previously been announced to be a DVD and Blu-Ray release, will now be a digital only release via selective digital platforms. An explanation for this decision was not given; but it is no longer being released on DVD and Blu-Ray in the UK.
