Christmas has come early for anime fans as today Manga Entertainment UK have announced their Q1 2019 release schedule as well as a slew of new title announcements to go along with it. Highlights include UK Blu-Ray and DVD Combo Pack releases of Assassination Classroom: The Movie, Card Captor Sakura: Clear Card, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortess, Mob Psycho 100 and The Ancient Magus’ Bride.

New Licenses:

Assassination Classroom: The Movie:

The killer class is back in session — sort of. Relive every moment that made you laugh, cry, and kept you on the edge through the eyes of the top two students: Nagisa and Karma!

It’s been some time since Nagisa and Karma were a part of the assassination classroom. Like he rest of Class3-E, they’ve grown and followed their own paths. But no matter how much time has passed, they’ll still remember their time with Koro Sensei and the lessons he taught them. Walking around their old classroom, the two former students reminisce about the time they spent in Class £-E and the crazy events that went down. From the minute Koro Sensei first stepped into the classroom down to their final moments – this is a look back at the adventures of assassins in training!

Card Captor Sakura: Clear Card:

The power of the Clow is back with a brand-new adventure! Join Cardcaptor Sakura as she faces a new power, new friends, and reunites with some familiar faces.

As Sakura settles into a normal routine, she prepares to face her newest challenge—junior high! While her classes are challenging, things start looking up when Syaoran reappears and says he’ll be staying for good. But when she has a strange dream about a mysterious figure and wakes to find her Clow Cards completely clear, she must return to her duty as Cardcaptor.

Ready to take on these cards with a new key and new wand, Sakura will face this mystery with the help of her friends—and seriously cute outfits!

Kabaneri of the Iron Fortess:

The world is in the midst of the industrial revolution when horrific creatures emerge from a mysterious virus, ripping through the flesh of humans to sate their never-ending appetite. The only way to kill these beings, known as “Kabane,” is by destroying their steel-coated hearts. However, if bitten by one of these monsters, the victim is doomed to a fate worse than death, as the fallen rise once more to join the ranks of their fellow undead.

Only the most fortified of civilizations have survived this turmoil, as is the case with the island of Hinomoto, where mankind has created a massive wall to protect themselves from the endless hordes of Kabane. The only way into these giant fortresses is via heavily-armored trains, which are serviced and built by young men such as Ikoma. Having created a deadly weapon that he believes will easily pierce through the hearts of Kabane, Ikoma eagerly awaits the day when he will be able to fight using his new invention. Little does he know, however, that his chance will come much sooner than he expected…

Mob Psycho 100:

Unbelievable psychic abilities. A dark and dangerous force. These are the things that make up Kageyama Shigeo, a.k.a. Mob. But despite his great power, Mob only wants one thing—to be cool! Like any other adolescent boy, Mob has a crush on a classmate, but unfortunately, he’s the most awkward kid in his entire school. Sure, he can do things like exorcise evil spirits, and yeah, he has a dark hidden power that unleashes when his suppressed emotions hit 100 percent. But none of that matters if he’s not cool, strong, or able to impress the girl he likes.

With surprisingly wise advice from master psychic (ahem, master con artist) Reigen Arataka and the help of some quirky comrades, Mob will learn what it means to be a regular kid facing the trials of adolescence—oh, and go up against a host of supernatural troublemakers and an underground psychic organization up to no good. All in a day’s work for a top-tier esper.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride:

Suffering a tragic childhood, Chise Hatori has lost all hope for happiness until a mysterious sorcerer named Elias takes interest in her aptitude for magic. To survive, she must learn to wield her powers while Elias must learn what it means to be human. Unaware of what lies ahead, he decides to make her his apprentice—and his bride.

Notes:

It’s worth noting that Mob Psycho 100 had previously been announced as an Anime Limited release, with the license for this title being obtained through Crunchyroll. This announcement was made by Anime Limited during an MCM London Comic Con event in 2016.
