Black Clover Blu-Ray & DVD Combo Pack Listed on Zavvi

It seems online retailer Zavvi may have just leaked the next Sony Pictures Home Entertainment anime release; as the online retailer have listed Studio Pierrot’s anime adaptation of the popular Shonen Jump Manga Black Clover as a Blu-Ray and DVD Combo Pack for release during August.

As it stands the product listing is incomplete, as details are incorrect and missing, but it does state that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is the publisher within the UK; and with FUNimation, which is now part of the Sony group, having confirmed their plans to release Black Clover in part installments within North America it all makes sense that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment would be managing the [yet to be announced] UK release.

Our speculation is that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment plan to follow the release schedule set-out by FUNimation in America; with five part installments (each featuring around 13 episodes in English & Japanese) on both Blu-Ray and DVD in a single set – with the first part scheduled for release on the 8th August 2018 within the UK.

Naturally we will know more when Sony Pictures Home Entertainment make the official announcement; but for the time being at least we can expect another (relatively new) long-running Shonen Jump franchise to be released in the UK; and this time under the Sony brand.
