Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition Announced for Western Release

It’s been the game that ‘western’ Tales of franchise have been asking for and Bandai Namco Entertainment are finally delivering; introducing Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.

Originally released worldwide onto the Xbox 360 in 2008, and then a year later onto the PlayStation 3 in Japan, Tales of Vesperia has been crowned as one of the ‘best’ Tales of experiences and for the past decade fans have demanded that the game be released onto the PlayStation 3 and – in recent times – receive a High Definition remake for current generation consoles. Well Bandai Namco Entertainment have heard the cries and this winter they will deliver.

Synopsis: Follow Yuri Lowell, a resident in the Lower Quarter of Zaphias and former Imperial Knight, as he accepts a mission to retrieve a stolen Blastia Core used to regulate his neighbourhood’s water supply. This simple mission spins into a series of events that finds Yuri befriending a colourful cast of characters, travelling to exotic locations, and being pushed into the middle of a nefarious plot that threatens the destruction of the entire planet.

This ‘Definitive Edition’ of the game will not only feature improved visuals for modern-day consoles but it will also include brand new events, characters, costumes and quests that were never released outside of Japan. Tales of Vesperia will also feature a ‘linear-combat-system’ in which players will control the main character in free-flowing combat while the AI controls the remaining characters.

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition is scheduled to be released during Winter for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC; further details – and a release date – will be confirmed at a later date.
