Flip Flappers Collector’s Edition Release To Be Blu-Ray Only

MVM Entertainment have taken to Twitter to reveal that the upcoming Collector’s Edition release of Flip Flappers, which is due to be released on the 18th June 2018, will be a Blu-Ray only release due to DVD disc masters not being available.

Previously Flip Flappers had been announced as a Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray and DVD Combo Pack release; but with Sentai Filmworks dropping DVD as a format, and Madman Entertainment not wanting to do a DVD version of this series, the DVD discs for this Collector’s Edition have been dropped.

Fortunately MVM Entertainment still want to cater to the ‘DVD’ fandom and as such they will be mastering DVD discs for Flip Flappers of which will be released as a stand-a-lone DVD release later in the year.

Apologies to all with the Flip Flappers Collector’s Edition – this was listed as a combi set but is not the case. This will just be Blu-Ray only. HOWEVER, we have paid for masters to make a standard DVD collection, which will be due in August.

USA and Australia have decided to drop DVD as a format and will be focusing mainly on Blu-Ray, so it is more than likely we will have to follow suit.

With Madman Entertainment and Sentai Filmworks dropping DVD as a format, and as such no longer creating disc authors for UK distributors to replicate form, it seems Blu-Ray is slowly becoming the only format option available – that is unless distributors wish to cretae their own DVD Master.

Either way; Flip Flappers will be available as a Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray on 18th June 2018 while a standard DVD release will arrive at a later date.
