Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms & Your Name To Be Shown at MCM London Comic Con This Month

Anime Limited have announced that feature-length-films Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms and Your Name will be shown during the course of the MCM London Comic Con weekend as part of the revitalized MCM Loves Anime at London Comic Con event.

The MCM Loves Anime at London Comic Con event originally began with its debut event back in 2015, with films such as Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin, Love Live!: The Movie and Empire of Corpses being shown, but since then similar events at the MCM London Comic Con have not been hosted; today us until this May 2018 MCM London Comic Con.

Unfortunately unlike the previous event, which took place outside of the ExCeL Centre and a short distance away from the venue, this MCM Loves Anime at London Comic Con event is taking place inside the centre; and as such an MCM ticket – as well as a ticket for each film being shown – is required in order to experience the magic of anime on the big screen.

Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms – Friday 25th May 2018 [7:30pm]:

Synopsis: Acclaimed screenwriter Mari Okada makes her directorial debut in this animated fantasy feature.

The people of Iorph have a lifespan of hundreds of years and maintain their teenage appearances for life, but when the peace of this town is shattered by those who want the secret to their longevity for themselves, a young girl named Maquia is forced to escape. Wandering the land alone, upon finding an orphaned baby she chooses to raise him, but as this boy grows up so the difference in their lifespans is thrown into ever-sharper relief.

Your Name – Saturday 26th May 2018 [7:30pm]:

Synopsis: Mitsuha and Taki are total strangers living completely different lives. But when Mitsuha makes a wish to leave her mountain town for the bustling city of Tokyo, they become connected in a bizarre way. She dreams she is a boy living in Tokyo while Taki dreams he is a girl from a rural town he’s never visited. What does their newfound connection mean? And how will it bring them together? Find out in the smash hit film from the acclaimed auteur Makoto Shinkai.
