Nicalis To Release Cross-Over Puzzle Game Crystal Crisis onto the Nintendo Switch Later This Year

Nicalis, the publisher of games such as The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+, Cave Story+ and the publisher for the upcoming arcade inspired fighter Blade Strangers, have announced a brand new cross-over themed entry into the puzzle genre for the Nintendo Switch.

Introducing Crystal Crisis; a one-on-one themed fighting game where attacks are performed by arranging coloured gems into lines. Each line of gem that disappears will result in one attack being dealt to your opponent with special attacks occuring when chain combos are done. In case you haven’t guessed it’s a Puzzle Fighter inspired game; except this time it features a wealth of popular characters as fighters in a selection of different gameplay modes including Arcade and Training.

Crystal Crisis will feature nineteen playable characters from popular Nicalis related titles, such as Quote, Curly Brace and Ballos from Cave Story+ and Isaac from The Binding of Isaac as well as notable Japanese characters such as Atom Black Jack via Tezuka Productions. In addition to these notable characters a selection of ‘new’ characters will be made for this game.

Crystal Crisis is expected to release later this year onto the Nintendo Switch within North America, a European release is also expected but not yet confirmed; and additionally those who purchase the launch day edition of the game will receive some bonus goodies including a booklet filled with artwork and information.
