Prepare for some announcement news that you may not see for another two years – that is excluding simulcast streaming on Cruncyroll at least – as Anime Limited have announced that they have acquried both Tokyo Ghoul: Re and Lupin the 3rd Part 5 for UK Distribution.
This announcement is a ‘two-part’ announcement as firstly Anime Limited have licensed both titles directly from Japan in order for them to be simulcast streamed on Crunchyroll, which can be viewed here (Tokyo Ghoul: Re) and here (Lupin the 3rd Part 5), while the second part of this announcement will see the distributor releasing them on Blu-Ray and DVD in the near future – with the exceptation of a mid-2019 release.
Tokyo Ghoul: Re: Haise Sasaki has been tasked with teaching Qs Squad (note from Anime Ltd: Qs is read as “Quinx”) how to be outstanding investigators, but his assignment is complicated by the troublesome personalities of his students and his own uncertain grasp of his Ghoul powers. Can he pull them together as a team, or will Qs Squad first assignment be their last?
Lupin the 3rd Part 5: Lupin the 3rd Part 5 finds our renowned thief and his associate Daisuke Jigen hiding out in an apartment in modern-day rural France, which provides the backdrop for this latest series. This time around Lupin is drawn into the world of technology via a site on the so-called “dark web” known as Marco Polo – a go-to place for undesirables to purchase illegal items from drugs to firearms. Can Lupin successfully infiltrate a datacenter and carry out a heist to steal digital currency from this virtual realm?
It’s safe to say we won’t hear much about the UK releases of this titles for awhile; but they will be coming to the UK via Anime Limited in the near future. Those wishing to watch the series can do so via Crunchyroll.
