Gunsmith Cats Explosive Edition Kickstarter Reaches Target

AnimEgo recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for a Blu-Ray release of classic anime OVA series Gunsmith Cats and within several hours the campaign managed to reach its £53,000 goal, with stretch goals being added where possible.

The objective of this Kickstarter Campaign is to release a Blu-Ray Edition of Gunsmith Cats, dubbed as the Explosive Edition, in which it would contain all three OVA episodes, a new 1080p High Definition transfer, several audio options and a selection of bonus materials includin reconstructed High Definition trailers, of which are listed below:

• All 3 episodes (~90 minutes total) in a high-bitrate encode from a new 1080p HD transfer.
• Amaray case with reversible cover sleeve.
• 9-panel insert with new original art poster.
• Japanese stereo (uncompressed) and English stereo & 5.1 (ac3) audio.
• Color, SDH and traditional caption subtitles (see below).
• Artwork slideshow.
• Clean opening credits.
• Reconstructed HD trailers.
• Music Video.
• The Making of Gunsmith Cats featurette (SD, from the DVD release).
• English commentary (from the DVD release) featuring Matt Greenfield (English voice director) and Tiffany Grant (voice actor of Becky).
• All Basic-level backers and above will be listed in a special list of supporters on the disc and on the 9-panel insert!
