Seven Seas Entertainment Announce New License Acquisitions; inclduing Boogiepop Phantom

Seven Seas Entertainment continues the ‘week of announcements‘ by annoucing a selection of new titles; including Beauty and The Beast Girl and I Want To Eat Your Pancreas as well as reprints of older releases such as Boogiepop Phantom.

Beauty and The Beast Girl: A troubled monster, isolated in the forest, wishes she could live amidst humans despite her frightening appearance. Everything changes when she starts getting a visitor–a blind human girl who’s fascinated with her mysterious forest friend. As the monster and the girl grow attached in their secluded world, their love proves that beauty is more than skin deep.

Boogiepop Phantom: There’s an urban legend that children tell about a shinigami that can release people from the pain they are suffering. This “Angel of Death” has a name: Boogiepop. And the legends are true. Boogiepop is real. Told in a non-linear fashion that asks the reader to piece together the sequence of events to solve the mysteries alongside the characters, Kouhei Kadono’s first Boogiepop novel took First Place in Media Works’ Dengeki Game Novel Contest in 1997 and ignited the Japanese “light novel” trend. As per usual this license announcements relate to just America; but most (if not all) of novels and manga published by Seven Seas Entertainment do become to purchase within the UK. In any event these titles will be released in due course; with some not being released until 2019.
