Anime Limited Confirm License Acquisition for Code Geass Movie Trilogy

Earlier in the week we reported that listings had appeared on the Showcase Cinema website revealing that Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion I: Initiation, the first film in a selection of recap movies, would receive a UK Cinematic release and, at the time of reporting, mentioned that Anime Limited had acquired the distribution rights to the first film. Well today the distributor have ‘officially confirmed‘ that they have the UK distribution rights to the entire Code Geass movie series.

Well today we’re delighted to announce that we (Anime Ltd.) have acquired the rights to the 10th Anniversary three film project of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

We will be bringing the first film of this project, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion I – Initiation, to selected cinemas in the U.K. very soon; this month in fact for one night only! Yes that’s right, get the date in your diary because Wednesday 21st March 2018 is when you get your first taste of the Code Geass on the big screen in the United Kingdom.

It’s worth noting that while we have acquired the rights to all three films, we don’t know if there will be an opportunity to bring the second and third films to the cinema – it’s too early to tell and there will be many factors to weigh up as well.

As previously reported Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion I: Initiation will be shown in selective cinemas across the UK for one night only on the 21st March 2018; of which the film will be shown in its original Japanese audio with English subtitles. The film is a recap of the events of the TV Anime, a series which is available on DVD and Blu-ray withi the UK via Kaze and Manga Entertainment.

Further details surrounding this ‘one day cinematic’ release of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion I: Initiation can be found on the official Anime Limited website; but in the meantime the official trailer can be seen below.
