Anime Limited Acquire Mamoru Hosoda’s “Mirai” for UK Cinema Distribution

Anime Limited, otherwise known as All The Anime, have today announced that they will be bringing Mamoru Hosoda’s latest feature-length-film, known as Mirai (working title), to UK Cinemas later this year.

As it stands details on when the film will be shown in cinemas, as well as locations within the UK, have yet to be announced but additional details will be confirmed at a later date.

Synopsis: Mirai follows a 4-year old boy who is struggling to cope with the arrival of a little sister in the family, until things turn magical. A mysterious garden in the backyard of the boy’s home becomes a gateway allowing the child to travel back in time and encounter his mother as a little girl and his great-grandfather as a young man. These fantasy-filled adventures allow the child to change his perspective and help him become the big brother he was meant to be.

Mirai, which is the ‘working title’ for this film, is a story by Mamoru Hosoda, who is famous for films such as Summer Wars and Wolf Children, and is being animated by his own production studio, Chizu. We expect Anime Limited to announce further details in the coming months; but for the time being an English Subtitled trailer can be found below.
