New Gundam Breaker To Release on PS4 Within Europe This Year

Bandai Namco Entertainment have announced that New Gundam Breaker, the latest instalment into the Gundam Breaker franchise, will be released within Europe later this year for the PlayStation 4.

New Gundam Breaker, which could be the games actual name, was originally announced for a Japanese release during a special Gundam themed live stream in Japan; but shortly after the live stream ended the western divisions of Bandai Namco Entertainment confirmed, with a localised trailer, that the game would also be releasing within Europe and America.

Although various Gundam games have been released westward, with the most recent being Gundam Versus and Gundam Extreme Versus – which are both inspired by the Gundam Versus Arcade Fighting game franchise, the ever-popular Gundam Breaker franchise, which sees players create and customise their own Gundam in ‘Gunpla’ format, have never been released within the west.

In Japan the original Gundam Breaker titles were released onto the PlayStation Vita, with the third game receiving a PlayStation 4 release. In Asia an English localised version of Gundam Breaker 3 was also made available, which led some to speculate that the game would arrive westward like other Asian localised releases at the time; but unfortunately this did not happen. Now, New Gundam Breaker, will be released worldwide and feature the same building Gundams.

For the time being details on New Gundam Breaker are relatively unknown; but we do know that the game will allow players to create their own Gundam units from any available parts. If you’ve seen the anime Gundam Build Fighters, and in turn its sequel series Gundam Build Fighters Try, you’ll know what to expect; it’s not about building ‘the’ Gundam, it’s about building ‘your’ Gundam or mobile suit.

New Gundam Breaker is currently in development for the PlayStation 4 and we can expect to hear new details in the coming months.
