NIS America have announced that the PC version of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA will be available on Steam from the 30th January 2018 and more importantly include the revised localisation that were previously announced during October.
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA was originally released onto the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita; but shortly after its release the English localisation was criticised for poor translations and inconsistencies. NIS America announced that a revised English translation would be released at a later point as a free content pack.
This PC version, which is due for release on the 30th January 2018, will not only feature this updated localisation as part of the base game but it will also include PC game optimizations and enhancements. The localisation pack for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita version will also be made available on the same day as the PC version is released on Steam.
In addition to the release date news NIS America have revealed that for one week only, PC users will be able to download a selection of content for FREE until 6pm UK Time on 6th February 2018. A list of content being made available for FREE is as follows:
- Adol’s Adventure Essentials DLC – Includes Adol’s Silver Armor, Adol’s Adventurer Clothes, and Adol’s Survival Kit
- Digital Mini Art Book – Includes a 32-page full-color art book
- Digital Soundtrack Sampler – Includes 5 tracks
- Laxia’s “Eternian Scholar” Costume
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA is now available for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita while the PC version will be available from the 30th January 2018. The game is also available to pre-purchase on Steam.
