Manga UK Delays Hosoda Collection Movies Due to Packaging Concerns

Those looking forward to Manga Entertainment UK’s Collector’s Edition Hosoda Collection movies, such as Summer Wars, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Wolf Children, will be disappointed to learn that the films have been delayed due to packaging concerns.

As a result of this delay it now means that Wolf Children will be released on the 18th December 2017, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time will be released on the 26th December 2017 and that Summer Wars will be released on the 15th January 2018.

So what exactly went wrong? Well according judging from this eBay listing it seems the artwork has been printed incorrectly on the inner carded sleeve and as such the wrong artwork is being displayed. The artwork that ‘should’ be displayed is the one featuring the avatars but (as you can see in the picture) the artwork for the real characters can be seen.

It is possible that it is simply a packing error, whereby the carded sleeve has been put in the wrong way round, rather than a production error; but whatever the reason Manga UK have opted to delay the product so that everyone receive the films as they were intended.

For those unaware the Collector’s Edition sets for each Hosoda Collection film released in the UK will feature both Blu-Ray & DVD versions as well as a special booklet detailing the film; all of which are presented in glorious looking packaging. These films will now be released in December with Summer Wars planned for release during January next year.
