Manga Entertainment UK To Release Pokemon: I Choose You on Blu-Ray & DVD Next Year

In an expected, but slightly surprising, announcement Manga Entertainment UK have revealed that they will be releasing Pokemon: I Choose You , the latest and twentieth Pokemon film in the franchise, on DVD and Blu-Ray next year.

While this announcement is expected, as Manga Entertainment UK are the current distributor for Pokemon DVDs and Blu-Rays, it is surprising to see the confirmation so soon after the cinema release. Furthermore Manga Entertainment UK have confirmed that they will be releasing the film on DVD on the 12th February 2018 while a Steelbook Blu-Ray will be released on the 30th April 2018; both versions will be presented in English only.

The reason for the ‘extended’ waiting period on the Blu-Ray is due to additional production time required for the steelbook case which, at the time of writing, has yet to receive a confirmed artwork design.

Synopsis: Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! is an origin story highlighting Ash & Pikachu’s first meeting and their adventures as they search for the legendary Pokémon Ho – Oh. The iconic pair encounter familiar faces along the way, new characters including Trainers Verity and Sorrel, and even a mysterious new Mythical Pokémon, Marshadow. Challenges and epic Pokémon battles abound in this unique story about the beginning of one of the most beloved friendships in popular culture.

Further information regarding this announcement can be found on the official Manga Entertainment UK website; but for the time being Pokemon: I Choose You is scheduled to be released on DVD on the 12th February 2018 with the Blu-Ray Steelbook Edition scheduled for a 30th April 2018 release date.
