In some rather unexpected news Bandai Namco Entertainment have provided new details surrounding Arc System Works upcoming 2.5D fighting game Dragon Ball FighterZ; in this case the games official release date and details about the games Season Pass content.
For starters Dragon Ball FighterZ will be available from the 26th January 2017 within Europe for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC; with the console versions to be available in Standard, Deluxe and Collectors Edition formats (physically) as well as Standard & Deluxe Editions (digitally). The PC release via Steam will also receive the Standard and Deluxe Edition treatment.
The ‘Deluxe’ Edition will, as with the previous Dragon Ball Z game release, will feature the base game along with the games Season Pass; a pass which grants access to another £30 / $35 worth of content. In this case the Season Pass will grant access to eight additional characters, of which have yet to be announced, a brand new announcer and eleven tracks from the Dragon Ball Z anime including the ever-popular CHA-LA HEAD CHA-LA and We Gotta Power songs.
Rounding up the announcements was the confirmation that Nappa and Captain Ginyu, both of which were previously revealed in Famitsu Magazine, will be playable within the base game. Nappa will be able to summon Saibamen for support while Ginyu can summon the other members of the Ginyu force, such as Jace and Raccon.
In addition to the announcements Bandai Namco Entertainment went on to further explain the games Story Mode; an original story being played out from three different perspectives. In this case the story will be played out from the view of the Saiyans (Goku,Vegeta, Gohan etc), the Super Vilians and the Androids with all three campaigns offering a complete picture of the story; a story which is still shrouded in mystery for the most part. As part of the campaign players will be able to ‘level up’ their character with new skills / abilities and increase the base health of the character.
In terms of online multiplayer combat Dragon Ball FighterZ will offer a Circle Match mode whereby up to 8 players can enter into the room to fight against each other where up to 4 fights can happen simultaneously. A regular lobby system, like that used in the multiplayer beta, will also be present for ranks to take part in rank battles.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is currently in development for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC and is expected to be released on the 26th January 2017 within Europe.
