Manga Entertainment UK have today provided some disappointing news by announcing that a selection of their upcoming titles have been delayed; with some being pushed back as far as next year.
In this case five titles were announced to be delayed, with two of them being delayed until next year; all of which were announced through the official Manga Entertainment Social Media Channels.
Firstly the DVD version of Ushio & Tora, which was originally announced for a 9th October 2017 release, has been pushed back to a ‘to be announced’ date in 2018; the Blu-ray version of the series meanwhile remains unaffected and will still be released on the 9th October 2017. Considering that Manga Entertainment UK received samples of the DVD in the office earlier this week it’s surprising that it has been delayed – my assumption would be an issue with the DVD Discs that need to be fixed.
The second and third delay come in the form of two recently announced films, namely SteamBoy and Paprika, as SteamBoy has been pushed back a week from its 23rd October 2017 release to the 30th October 2017 while Paprika has suffered a three-week-delay by being pushed back to the 9th November 2017 from its previously announced 16th October 2017 release date.
The fourth and fifth delays come in the form of the Blu-ray release of Soul Eater – The Complete Series, which has been pushed back from it’s October release window to the 27th November 2017, and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure – Season 1, which has been pushed back from it’s Q4 2017 Release Window to 2018.
Unlike the norm Manga Entertainment UK have not issued a statement regarding the delay so it is possible that they are just having a release date shuffle; as most were only tentative dates. The DVD releae of Ushio & Tora on the other hand is a ‘interesting’ delay due to the fact that finalised samples exist.
We can expect Manga Entertainment UK to confirm more details surrounding these titles in the near future; but for the time being at least these titles will be coming out much later than originally expected.
