Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner – M∀RS Announced for the PS4 & PC

Konami Entertainment have annouced that Hideo Kojima’s fast-paced-mecha game Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner will be released onto the PlayStation 4 and PC later next year.

Originally released onto the PlayStation 2 in 2003, before being re-released in 2012 as part of the Zone of The Enders HD Collection for the Xbox 360 and PS3, comes Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner – M∀RS for the PlayStation 4 and PC. This latest remaster of (one of my favourite) PlayStation 2 games will not only feature improved ‘high definition’ visuals that will deliver a 4K and HDR experience but it will also contain a Virtual Reality mode that allows players to enjoy the ‘entire’ game in the cockpit of Jehuty and from the perspective view of the pilot; Dingo.

For those unaware Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner is the sequel to the PlayStation 2 launch title Zone of the Enders and sees miner Dingo forced to pilot the specialised weapon unit known as Jehuty in order to extract his revenge from the BAHRAM empire. It’s an adrenuline fueled story that combines ‘high-speed-robot-action’ with anime storytelling. The HD Remaster in 2012 even featured a new animated opening from SUNRISE; the animation studio behind Mobile Suit Gundam and most mecha franchises in Japan.

Further details surrounding this release of Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner can be found on the offical Konami Blog; but the game will be released onto the PS4 and PC next year worldwide.
