.Hack//G.U. – Last Recode Announced for Western PS4 & PC Release

Bandai Namco Entertainment have today announced that .Hack//G.U., an action-adventure-JPRG developed by CyberConnect2 that was originally released onto the PS2 a decade ago, will be released onto the PS4 and PC during late 2017 as .Hack//G.U – Last Recode.

This ‘next-gen’ re-release of .Hack//G.U. will feature all three original PS2 games, known as Rebirth, Reminisce and Redemption, remastered within updated 1080p visuals, 60 fps,  trophy support and 16:9 Widescreen picture in addition to a re-balanced gameplay and a new ‘cheat system’ that will allow players to breeze through the game in order to just experience the games story (which is quite an interesting addition).

But what exactly is .hack? Well for thos unfamiliar Bandai Namco Entertainment have provided us with a brief rundown of the titles history:

.hack is a multimedia franchise created and developed by famed Japanese developer CyberConnect2. Comprising of video games, anime, novels, and manga, the world of .hack focuses on the mysterious events surrounding a wildly popular in-universe massively multiplayer role-playing game called The World.  .hack//G.U. begins after the events of the original .hack series with players assuming the role of Haseo as he tracks down a powerful Player Killer named Tri-Edge who killed his friend’s in-game avatar Shino, and put her in a coma in real life.

.hack//GU – Last Recode will be available for the PS4 and PC later this year with further details to be announced in the coming months.
