In This Corner of the World To Appear in Summer Film Festivals Across the Globe

Manga Entertainment UK have today announced that Sunao Katabuchi’s feature-length animated film In This Corner of the World will appear as part of various Summer Film Festivals across the world; starting with the Annecy International Animation Film Festival during the middle of this month.

Synopsis: From the director of Mai Mai Miracle and the producers of Millennium Actress & Tokyo Godfathers. The award-winning story of In This Corner of the World follows a young lady named Suzu Urano, who in 1944 moves to the small town of Kure in Hiroshima to live with her husband’s family. Suzu’s life is thrown into chaos when her town is bombed during World War II. Her perseverance and courage underpin this heart-warming and inspirational tale of the everyday challenges faced by the Japanese in the midst of a violent, war-torn country. This beautiful yet poignant tale shows that even in the face of adversity and loss, people can come together and rebuild their lives.

Although this news does not effect everyone it is great to see the film being shown at these kinds of events; something which rarely happens. A list of locations can be found below:

Summer Film Festival’s aside In This Corner of the World will be available in Cinemas throughout the UK from the 28th June 2017 with tickets now available to book online from the dedicated website.
