Yo-Kai Watch! DVD Release Delayed Until Later This Year

Those looking forward to Manga Entertainment UK’s upcoming Season 1 DVD release of Yo-Kai Watch!, which is of course the anime adaptation of the Nintendo 3DS game series, will be disappointed to hear that the set has been delayed until later this year.

According to a press update sent out by the UK distributor the delay is due to “ongoing licensing discussions”, as seen below:

Please note that Yo-Kai Watch has unfortunately been delayed until later in the year due to ongoing licensing discussions.

Its currently unclear what exactly this entails; but its possible that Manga Entertainment UK have the license to release it within the UK but are hoping to release it in a different way than what was originally agreed. For instance the original license may have required PAL DVD Disc Masters as opposed to NTSC Disc masters; but alas this is just guess-work and assumptions.

What we do know however is that Manga Entertainment UK plan to release Yo-kai Watch! in Season instalments; and just like they recent Yu-Gi-Oh! releases it will be in English Dubbed form only.
