New Puyo Puyo Tetris Gameplay Videos Introduce Fusion & Swap Modes

Puyo Puyo Tetris, which is released tomorrow onto the PS4 and Nintendo Switch within Europe, features a wide-variety of gameplay modes outside of the normal Puyo Puyo and Tetris rules. Two of these gameplay modes are known as Fusion and Swap with each offering drastically different styles of gameplay.
To illustrate this fact Koch Media, via DEEP Silver and SEGA, have today released two more tutorial styled gameplay videos that explain the rules and the mechanics of each new gameplay mode.
Fusion Mode:
The ‘Fusion’ gameplay mode in Puyo Puyo Tetris combines both gameplay elements of Tetris and Puyo Puyo into a single match; each with their own style of rules. For a certain period of time only tetrons will fall afterwhich the falling pieces will turn in to Puyos. Later stages will even see the falling piece randomly change until it hits the surface. Of course that’s not the only difference as while Tetrons can land cleanly onto the surface of other tetrons they will actually go through Puyos and move them out of the way thus delivering a rather hectic gameplay mode for those involved.
Swap Mode:
The ‘Swap’ gameplay mode on the other hand is a lot simplier and easier to use; the match constantly switches between a Puyo Puyo screen and Tetris screen with the winner decided by whoever looses in either game. In short you are basically playing two games at once (one with Puyo Puyo rules and another with Tetris rules); but whoever looses first will loose the entire match.
Puyo Puyo Tetris will be available for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 from the 28th April 2017.
