MangaUK Announces Partnership with Shout Factory! for Digimon Adventure Tri Release

When Manga Entertainment UK announced that they had the distribution rights to Digimon Adventure Tri, specifically Movie 1, last year it was met with surprise and joy; however unfortunately that excitement quickly died down when the distributor delayed the title until early 2017 with the reasoning that they wanted to release the film with it’s newly produced English Dub (as previously it was going to be a subtitle only release). Well today that disappointment continues as now the film won’t be released until the 22nd May 2017.

It’s a bitter pill to swallow; especially after suffering a rather significant delay last year but it isn’t without reason. As announced on social media earlier today Manga Entertainment UK have opted to delay their (assumed) self-authored-release of Digimon Adventure Tri – Movie 1 so that they can partner up with the American distributor Shout Factory!, the distributor who worked with Manga UK for the UK release of Transformers: The Movie, to create a unified release of the film featuring all-sorts of bonus content.

Specific details have not yet been revealed; but one would expect that the previous variation of Digimon Adventure Tri – Movie 1 would’nt feature as much ‘exclusive’ content as the American counterpart; and as such the two distributors are joining forces to create an overall better product for everyone.  Only time will tell what one will receive; but we do know that Digimon Adventure Tri – Movie 1 will be released on DVD, Blu-ray and Collector’s Edition Blu-ray on the 22nd May 2017 within the UK. Of course this date is subject to change.
