Following on from the official unboxing by Marvelous Games we now provide you with our own thoughts on this European Exclusive ‘Moon Crux Edition’ of Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star; but unlike the video published by Marvelous Games our unboxing will focus on the PlayStation Vita version of the Moon Crux Edition and the contents it contains. So; let’s get straight to it!
Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star a PS Vita and PS4 game; a game which acts as a spiritual sequel to the PSP Game Fate/EXTRA and sees the victor of the Holy Grail War under a new type of threat. Unlike past Fate games Fate/EXTELLA has been developed as a fast-paced hack-and-slash action game mixed with visual novel dialogue elements so players can expect a mixture of both extensive dialogue and intense high-speed-gameplay with a variety of servants from the entire Fate Universe; as demonstrated in our gameplay video.
This Moon Crux Edition however, which is exclusive to Europe through the Marvelous Games Store; bundles the game base game (either PS Vita or PS4) with a selection of collectable physical content. In this case a cloth poster, which features rings at the top of each corner so that it can easily be hanged, a hardback materials book which features 130-pages worth of content ranging from character bios, character artwork, concept drawing, background designs and extensive information about the game, as well as sixteen premium art-cards with each one representing a different playable servant within the game. All of this content, as well as the game itself, is packaged inside a foil carded box which – when reflected in light – reveals a variety of artwork and, more importantly, a plastic o-card wraps around the box to protect it from damage.
From a collector’s stand point this Moon Crux Edition has been treated with care and attention; its not your usual collectors piece which would see DLC or a soundtrack selection included and it’s obvious that Marvelous Games want to give their fans something special. You can view this collector’s edition in more detail in our unboxing below; but the game itself will be available at retail (and as a digital download) from the 20th January 2017 within the UK, Europe and Australia. This Moon Crux Edition however is exclusive to the Marvelous Games Store.
