In a rather surprising, but completely amusing, announcement Capcom have revealed that after twenty years a new ‘edition’ of Street Fighter II will be released onto the Nintendo Switch in the near future.

Entitled ‘Ultra Street Fighter II: The FinalChallengers’ this latest edition into the ‘greatest entry’ into the Street Fighter franchise will return the gameplay to it’s original roots but expand upon it with crystal clear retro visuals, different visual styles (16:9 or 4:3) as well as two brand new characters – Evil Ryu and Violent Ken.

As per the original game Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers will feature an arcade mode as well as a multiplayer mode. In addition to the standard versus mode action, you can now choose to team up with a friend to take on a CPU opponent. Players can also use the Joy-Con feature to challenge a second player anytime, anywhere.

Further details surrounding Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers will be revealed in due course; but for the time being the announcement trailer gives an idea on what to expect from this bizarre instalment of a game.
