Zeta Gundam – Part 1 Blu-ray Release Pushed Back Once Again

It seems for Anime Limited 2017 has gotten-off to a disappointing start as their Blu-ray release of Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam – Part 1, which was initially announced for release last year, has once again been delayed further into 2017.
The previous delay, which was caused by authoring taking longer than expected, meant that Zeta Gundam – Part 1 would be released on the 16th January 2017; however over the past few days the distributor have announced that the set will now be released at some point during February due to a delay in BBFC approvals.
As explanation into this delay can be found below:
Unfortunately I regret to inform you that our release intended for release on 16th January has had to be pushed back to February, exact date to be confirmed. We apologise greatly for this and we would like to take a moment to highlight why this has happened.
Previously this title had been delayed due to problems surrounding the authoring of the discs for this release and we want to highlight this was not the case this time. While the authoring process has been completed, there was delay in the finalisation of the BBFC certification process for this release, and because of this it meant that the scheduled window that had been allocated for the production of the discs was missed.
Certification by the BBFC is required by UK law, and the certificate for each disc is required to be printed on each disc itself. Because of this, it has meant we can’t make the date advertised for its release.
As explained in the e-mail sent to those who pre-ordered from Anime Limited’s online store the set has been moved back to a TBC date in February 2017 and we can expect that Anime Limited will provide further details in the coming weeks.
As you would expect this ‘delay’ also means that Zeta Gundam – Part 2 has been pushed back; however the distributor have mentioned that they are hoping to release the second part of Zeta Gundam during the first quarter of 2017. For the time being we will have to wait for further confirmation from Anime Limited.
