Claymore, a series which was previously released on DVD in the UK via Manga Entertainment UK, will be re-released next year on to Blu-ray via Anime Limited and while this has been known for quite some time it’s not been known what to expect from the ‘expected’ Collector’s Edition release of the series. Well over the past few days Anime Limited took to their blog to unveil just what one could expect from this release, and it looks pretty nice.
As per Anime Limited’s standards one can expect the Claymore Collector’s Edition release to come packaged in a chipboard artbox with a fold-out-digi-pack packaging which houses the three Blu-ray discs; of which contain all twenty-six episodes of the series in both English and Japanese alongside a selection of bonus features. As illustrated in the pack-shot below the artbox will not feature the trademark Anime Limited sleeve (instead it’s just the logo much like Outlaw Star, Aldnoah Zero and Lucky Star) while the digi-pack will feature various artwork – some of which would’ve been seen on previous individual DVD volumes of the series.
In addition to the packaging design anime fans will receive a selection of art-cards and a 100-page art-book featuring all sorts of artwork and character information from the series; all of which will pack neatly together inside the chipboard artbox.
For those interested in the disc content (other than episode content and language options) then you’ll find the following content included on the discs:
- Episode commentaries on episodes 1, 8. 11, 16 19 & 26.
- Character Cast Auditions
- Interview with Director Hiroyuki Tanaka
- Interview with Sound Director Yasunori Honda
- Interview with Art Director Manabu Otsuzuki (Kusanagi)
- Interview with Art Settings Nobuhito Sue (Kusanagi)
- Original TV Commercials
- Textless Songs
Claymore will be released as a Collector’s Edition Blu-ray next year within the UK; alternatively the DVD version is still available (if found) on DVD.
