In a rather surprising announcement publisher Koei Tecmo Europe have announced that they will be releasing the PS Vita port of Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea, otherwise renamed to Atelier Shallie Plus: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea, later next year as both a digital download and – for the first time ever – as a retail cartridge within Europe.

Ever since Koei Tecmo started publishing Atelier titles on the PS3 a ‘PS Vita port’ has never been too far away and nearly all of them have been released digitally only within the UK and Europe; with the exception of Atelier Escha and Logy Plus which received a ‘Limited’ phsyical release within America and has long since gone out of print. So the announcement of Koei Tecmo Europe publishing a retail variation of Atelier Shallie Plus: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea, as well as a Limited Edition variation, comes as a surprise.

In any event this PS Vita port of the game, which will feature the entire game retweaked for the PS Vita, will be released on the 20th January 2017 and for those wishing to experience the ‘definitive’ Atelier Shallie can also pre-order a Limited Edition bundle exclusive to the European NISA America store. As you could expect this Bundle will contain the game along with a selection of goodies such as a microfibre cloth and soundtrack CD selection.

Limited Edition Includes:

  • Atelier Shallie Plus: Alchemist of the Dusk Sea physical PS Vita game
  • Atelier Shallie Plus: Alchemist of the Dusk Sea Alchemist Handbook (48-page softcover art book)
  • Atelier Shallie Plus: Alchemist of the Dusk Sea Original Soundtrack (30 tracks)
  • Atelier Shallie Plus: Alchemist of the Dusk Sea microfiber cloth (6″ x 6″)
  • Atelier Shallie Plus: Alchemist of the Dusk Sea collector’s box

In any event Atelier Shallie Plus: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea will be released onto the PS Vita as a Standard Edition and Limited Edition physical retail release and will also be available as a digital download from the Playstation Network Store from the 20th January 2017.
