Clarifications Given for Delay of Death Note and Digimon Tri

Earlier in the week Manga Entertainment UK confirmed through social media that both Death Note and Digimon Tri would have to be delayed due to unexpected issues discovered; with the former pushed back until the 19th December 2016 and the latter moved into March next year.
Specific details as to why these two releases were not given however over the past few days the Chief Operating Officer of Animatsu Entertainment, and head-honcho at Manga Entertainment UK, Jerome Mazandarani spoke out on twitter to reveal the all important details.
For starters Jerome explained that the delay to Digimon Adventure Tri was so that the UK release would include the English Dub; as previously it was going to be a Japanese English-Subtitle only product.; as illustrated in the quoted messages below:
About the delay to #DigimonAdventureTri1 We have moved the date to a week after US DVD/BD release in March in order to get the English dub.
Re #DigimonTri I know some UK customers are pissed at us for the delay. I am sorry we have disappointed them. However! It will be worth the wait. Originally, we were only going to release with Japanese audio and subs. Then we heard about the new dub with original voice cast and we figured it was something you would all want on the UK edition. So1 That’s why UK DVD/BD release of #DigimonAdventureTri1 is delayed
Shortly after this Jerome went on to explain that Death Note was delayed due to technical issues discovered with the assets received.
#DeathNote BD box set was delayed because we have had a lot of technical issues with some of the materials supplied to us.
Delays are a common occurence within thee media/entertainment industry, especially within anime, and it’s a frustrating experience for everyone involved but I do appreciate Jerome providing some much needed clarification as to why the titles were pushed back as it gives a better ‘understanding’ of why the product has been delayed rather than simply “packing/shipping delay”.
In any event Death Note is currently scheduled for release on the 19th December 2016 with Digimon Adventure Tri – Part 1 on course for release during March next year.
