Sword Art Online: Memory Defrag Heading to iOS & Android Devices


If you were hoping that smartphone and tablet devices would receive access to an independent Sword Art Online game then you are in luck; as Bandai Namco Entertainment have today unveiled Sword Art Online: Memory Defrag; a JPRG game designed specifically for smartphone and tablet devices.

Scheduled for release onto iOS and Android devices in the near future this ‘free-to-play app is an MMORPG that will allow fans to rexperience iconic moments from the anime, as well as brand new original storylines, in sprite-based turn-based-JPRG combat. That’s not all; as this game will also allows players to connect online and embark on quests with other players – just like you would in a regular MMORPG.

At the moment Bandai Namco Entertainment have not specified a launch window; however those who register their interest on the official Memory Defrag Website will not only receive a notification when it’s available but special bonuses including:

  • Camisole Asuna (Special bonus character for pre-registered players)
  • Apron & Kitchen Knife (The same knife and apron Asuna used in the anime series)
  • Memory Diamond x5 (Redeem memory diamonds to unlock a new character)

Sword Art Online: Memory Defrag will be released exclusively onto iOS and Android devices in the near future; in the meantime Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization will be released onto the PS4 and PS Vita from the 8th November 2016.
