As part of Koei Tecmo’s presence at the currently ongoing Tokyo Game Show the publishing giant have revealed that the previously self-titled Berserk game will now be known as Berserk and the Band of the Hawk within western countries; and more importantly the game will be released on the 24th February 2017 for the PS4, PS Vita and PC.

Sure enoguh the name Berserk and the Band of the Hawk isn’t as eye catching as Sword of the Berserk: Guts Rage, which for those unaware was a SEGA Dreamcast title developed by Yuke’s that continued the story after the original Berserk anime ended; but its good enough to please the masses and falls-in-line with what the game will offer; as explained in this synopsis provided to us by Koei Tecmo Europe.

Synopsis: Berserk and the Band of the Hawk follows the compelling tale of the famed mercenary group The Band of the Hawk, focusing on its diverse cast of characters and their struggles as they fight to achieve their dream of owning a kingdom. Berserk fans and newcomers alike will experience the series’ popular Golden Age story arc, which depicts the meeting between the leader of The Band of the Hawk, Griffith, and the legendary Black Swordsman, Guts, through to the gripping Falcon of the Millennium Empire arc, in which players will experience the group’s most brutal and devastating battles against humans and demons alike.

Berserk and the Band of the Hawk is currently scheduled for release on the 24th February 2017 and will be available as a physical release for the PS4 as well as a digital download for the PS4, PS Vita and PC.

Alongside the games true name (and release date) a brand new trailer was released highlighting some of the characters from the game, which will span the entire manga series, as well as the fact that this berserk game will also come with 120 minutes (2 hours) worth of cinematic anime footage which, from my impressions, seems to be taken from the previously released Berserk Movie trilogy. In any event you can check out the trailer for yourself below.
