Anime Limited to Release Turn A Gundam and ZZ Gundam on Blu-ray

Throughout the past few weeks many Mobile Suit Gundam fans have been speculating that Anime Limited would be releasing Turn A Gundam and ZZ Gundam on Blu-ray within the UK; as the UK distributor had previously confirmed that it would be following in the same release pattern as RightStuf within America.

Well as part of the Anime Limited Podcast, which was released yesterday, the UK distributor confirmed that they would indeed be releasing both Turn A Gundam and ZZ Gundam on Blu-ray within the UK at some point in the near future.

Originally Turn A Gundam was announced as a DVD only release but due to demands of the UK public, and pestering of Anime Limited to various companies, the release format was changed from DVD only to Blu-ray. ZZ Gundam on the other hand was announced as DVD only but it was actually ment to be a Blu-ray release from the start; so a slight miss-communication there by Anime Limited.

As part of the podcast Andrew Partridge explained (at around the 23 minute mark) that they are following the US release pattern for Mobile Suit Gundam releases and as such if it receives a Blu-ray release within America by Rightstuf then the UK should also expect the same treatment. Turn A Gundam was a ‘special’ case whereby fans passion, from both US and UK, as well as constant ‘pitches’ from Anime Limited meant that the release format was changed; and for the better.

Neither Turn A Gundam or ZZ Gundam have a release date as of yet; but according to the Podcast Anime Limited plan to release them in order with Zeta Gundam being released first followed by ZZ Gundam and then Turn A Gundam.
