Nobunaga The Fool, Photo Kano & Sakura Trick Release Dates Announced

Yesterday MVM Entertainment made the surprising announcement that they would be bringing Berserk, Chobits and Ergo Proxy to the UK on Blu-ray; and today that excitement continues with release date announcements for Nobunaga the Fool, Photo Kano and Sakura Trick, all of which will receive a DVD and Blu-ray release later this year.

The news of these titles were revealed on the MVM Twitter Page; but eagle eyed vistors of MVM’s online store anime-on-line were able to spot them before MVM had time to publically announce them.It all starts with Nobunaga the Fool, which is being released in two half-season-sets, with Part 1 being released on the 17th October 2016 (which coincidentially is a day before my birthday) and Part 2 being released a month later on the 28th November 2016. Photo Kano meanwhile will be released on the 7th November 2016 while Sakura Trick will be released on the 5th December 2016 and as previously all three titles will be released on both Blu-ray and DVD within the UK.

Nobunaga the Fool | Release Date: 17th October 2016 (Part 1), 28th November 2016 (Part 2):
Available to pre-order from Anime-on-Line

Synopsis: Long ago, in an age when the cosmos was still known as Chaos, the world was split into two planets, forming the West and East Stars. After years of war and strife, the Western Star has finally become united under a single king, the legendary Arthur. But conflict still threatens to consume all until hope arises in a vision: a vision of a champion who could save the futures of both worlds.

Setting forth on a dangerous journey, Joan d’Arc must travel from the West world to the East, seeking the man she believes can use the devices of the great Leonardo Da Vinci and become their savior. But will Nobunaga Oda be the kind of man they are expecting? Will history’s greatest heroes find themselves choosing not a liberator, but a destroyer? Or is Nobunaga’s role that of the Fool from a deck of Tarot, the wild card whose purpose is to invoke change, no matter what the cost?

Photo Kano | Release Date: 7th November 2016:
Available to pre-order from Anime-on-Line

Synopsis: During Kazuya Maeda’s first year of high school he felt like a nobody, just another forgotten face shuffling through the crowded hallways. Even his best friend from childhood, Nimi, seemed somehow more difficult to approach, since she had matured a little quicker in the unsettling way that girls have a habit of doing.

This year, however, things will be different for Kazuya, and part of that change may just be because of the big new chick magnet hanging in front of him: the used digital SLR he just received from his dad! But will just having a camera be enough to make talking to girls a snap? Well, if he stays focused and proves to be good enough at making them look good, it might just be! And since it’s digital, there are no negatives or having to wait for things to develop!

Sakura Trick | Release Date: 5th December 2016:
Available to pre-order from Anime-on-Line

Synopsis: Haruka and Yuu have been best friends forever and they’ve always sat next to each other in class since… well, since they were just girls in junior high anyway. But on their first day of high school, they’re stunned to learn that the new seating plan has them on opposite sides of the classroom!

So, since everyone knows that long distance relationships won’t work unless the parties involved put extra effort into it, they decide they need to do something extra special to permanently seal their friendship. However, deciding to kiss each other awakens a whole new level of feelings, and it doesn’t help that some of their classmates seem to be “involved” in similar circumstances.

So what’s a girl to do when her best girl friend suddenly seems more like a girlfriend? It’s a life lesson that the school curriculum isn’t normally prepared to teach, except maybe in French class, and our two young heroines are about to get a private education you’ll never forget! Discover the truth about the birds and the… er… birds, as two young ladies learn to deal with the pros and cons of intramural osculation!

As usual these dates are tentative and are subject to change; but it’s nice to see MVM finally start to bring a larger number of titles to Blu-ray within the UK.
